Blogging from hospital
Just seen a patient having an epileptic seizure and it really is quite frightful. I've realised it must have been quite a scare for my parents when I had mine years ago.
Waiting to have a look at evoked potentials being done a little later. This rotation has been busy, I so badly need a good lie-in right now. Drifting off to sleep...

Critical acclaim
Osama 'plug' boosts book's sales
And I thought people looked to the New York Times' bestseller list for recommended reads!

Cunning linguists
Listen to this clip of an ah beng and a foreign worker attempting to outswear each other. The foreign worker is obviously extremely well-versed in Singaporean profanity; he uses knnbcb, supplements it with 'bastard' and even uses 'hantam you'. Haha!
Look out for three phases in the conversation - the foreign worker launching aggressively into a vulgar tirade, making a futile attempt to reason with the ah beng midway through, and finally giving in meekly to his linguistic superior.
Damn hilarious!

Long time no post
Removed the rather long and redundant new year post, I've just been rather lazy in updating the blog. The inertia is difficult to overcome. It's been nice seeing some familiar faces over the past week, I never really found the time to meet up with anyone while at Tommy's.
Kevin and I have been fortunate in that everyone in our abdominal firm was really nice, but I always seem ill at ease with locals. I have this rather formal, ambiguous accent reserved for them and it doesn't allow me to be myself. It's such a relief to be around people who speak my tongue and comprehend 90% of what I'm saying.
Early start tomorrow morning, we have to make our way to Kent *groan*.
